Erdal Yalçın

Erdal Yalçın is Deputy Director of the Ifo Center for International Economics. His research focuses on economic effects of international trade agreements, on the interaction between international value-chains and firm dynamics, and on the role of uncertainty for trade policy. In recent projects, he has evaluated the economic effects of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Erdal Yalçın studied international economics at the University of Tuebingen and the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University, Sweden. He holds a doctoral degree in economics from Tuebingen University for his thesis on the role of uncertainty in international foreign direct investment. He has been a visiting scholar at Aarhus University and at the World Trade Organization. His work has been published in international academic journals such as the Review of International Economics, The World Economy or Economic Policy. He regularly speaks at major international conferences and teaches at universities.
