Güven Sak
Güven Sak is the managing director of the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) and vice-president of the TOBB University of Economics and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Middle East Technical University and an M.A. from the University of East Anglia. Sak was a founding member of the Monetary Policy Council of the Central Bank of Turkey, where he served as an external member between 2001 and 2005. He has held prominent positions in the Turkish social security reform projects in 1995 and 1999, and was among the leaders of the Turkish capital market modernization project in 1991-92. Professor Sak was a member of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University until 2006, where he taught banking, international finance, and public economics. Sak currently writes on economic issues for the Hurriyet Daily News, Radikal and Dünya.
