Heike Loeschmann

Heike Löschmann is a social anthropologist and specialized in South East Asian politics and cultures. From work as a university lecturer at Hamburg University she got into the field of development and worked for more many years as Director of Heinrich Böll Foundation´s Thailand and Southeast Asia Regional Office (Chiang Mai, Thailand). Since her return to Germany in 2010 she is been Head of Department for International Politics at the Berlin Headquarters of the Heinrich Böll Foundation (a German political foundation affiliated with the Green Party). In her current position she combines two areas of work: 1. Analyzes of the impact of global economic governance (with particular focus on the G20/G7 and the BRICS) and related development finance policies. She is been co-editor with her collegue Nancy Alexander of the G20/BRICS update. 2. Her program also focuses on citizens induced and sustainability oriented alternative economic developments, such as commons based P2P- economy, sharing and digital economies as well as social and solidarity economy.
