Janamitra Devan

Janamitra Devan is the Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Turkish B20 Presidency and member of its Global Steering Committee. In this capacity, he is responsible for guiding B20 Corporate leaders in the formulation of recommendations to the G20 Heads of State. Dev is a recognized expert on megatrend assessments, competitiveness, strategy and leadership. He was until recently the Vice President of the World Bank and IFC’s Financial & Private Sector Network. He advised several developing country Heads of State, senior political leaders and government officials, on shaping their business environments for enhanced productivity. At the height of the financial crisis, Dev represented the WBG at the Financial Stability Board in Basel, Switzerland. Prior to the World Bank, Dev was at McKinsey for a decade. He led the Firm’s Global Strategy Practice and later its McKinsey Global Institute (Asia) based in Shanghai. Prior to McKinsey, Dev served S&P, Ernst and Young in Singapore, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Competitiveness. He is also a member of the `Future Circles’ of the Government of the UAE, comprising a group of 30 global intellectual leaders. He also advises a global aerospace conglomerate’s executive management committee. He is a member of the Global Dean’s Council of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Born in Singapore, Dev obtained his PhD in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA
