Jeffrey D. Anderson

Jeffrey Anderson is Senior Advisor at the SME Finance Forum, a G20-founded association of private and public finance institutions and financial technology firms active in financing small businesses in both developed and emerging markets. He was with the Institute of International Finance from 1984 to 2014, where fe was Senior Director for European Affairs from 2012 and Director of its European department from 1992 to 2012. His expertise is in macroeconomic policy assessment, country and sovereign risk analysis, external payments and debt and banking. He was coauthor in 2013 of an important study done with Bain & Company entitled Restoring Growth and Financing to Europe’s SMEs. He has worked extensively since 1992 on emerging Europe, including Russia, Turkey and the EU member states that have acceded since 2004. Since 2010, he has focused intensively on the European financial crisis, especially on Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Spain and Italy.
