Ping Yu

Mr. Yu Ping was born in June 1955 in Haiyang City, Shandong Province. He graduated from the English Department of the Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages and got an EMBA degree in the Peking University. He later completed the advanced training program on International Trade in the Department of Finance and Trade of the Graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Since September 2002, He has been a certified Senior Economist. Mr. Yu served in the Ministry of Foreign Trade from June 1976. He later transferred to the Liaison Department (now the Department or International Relations) of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in February 1977. Mr. Yu studied Literature and English from October 1977 to July 1979 in Bayero University in Nigeria. Mr. Yu then served consecutively as Deputy Director of the Division of European Affairs, the Department of International Relations, CCPIT in June 1985; Director of the Division in May 1988; Deputy Director General of the Department in February 1990; Director General of the Department in March 1994; the CCPIT US Chief Representative in July 1995. Mr. Yu was appointed as Deputy Secretary General of CCPIT in July 1999, and concurrently as Director General of the Personnel Department of CCPIT in April 2002. Mr. Yu became Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Chamber of International Commerce in August 2003. Concurrently, he is Chief Delegate of China to International Bureau of Exhibitions, Director of China-Japan Friendship Association, and Director of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs.
