Sadık Ünay

Sadık Ünay graduated from Bogazici University, Department of Political Science and International Relations in 1997. He received his MA in International Political Economy from the University of Manchester, Department of Government in 1999 and his Ph.D. from the same department in 2005. He has been a lecturer at Manchester, Birmingham and Huddersfield Universities in the United Kingdom and Maltepe, Fatih, Yıldız Technical and İstanbul Şehir Universities in Turkey. His articles have been published in journals such as Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Estudios Politicos, Insight Turkey, Perceptions and Review of International Law and Politics. He co-edited the Special Issue of Insight Turkey on the Political Economy of Turkish Foreign Policy. He is the author of two books; Neoliberal Globalisation and Institutional Reform: The Political Economy of Development Planning in Turkey, New York: Nova Science Publishers 2006 and Kalkınmacı Modernlik: Küresel Ekonomi Politik ve Türkiye (Developmentalist Modernity: Global Political Economy and Turkey), Küre Yayınları: İstanbul, 2011 (in Turkish). He also co-edited Civilizations and Global Orders: Perspectives from History, Philosophy and International Relations, New York: Nova Science Publishers, 2009. Ünay specializes in international political economy, politics of development, economic diplomacy, and the regional political economies of the Middle East and East Asia.
